Looking back on history, who was treated worse, Alfonse Capone, legendary mob boss, killer and “Public Enemy Number One,” or Paul Manafort, political operative & Reagan/Dole darling, now serving solitary confinement - although convicted of nothing? Where is the Russian Collusion?

Al Capone is better than Paul Manafort? Al Capone is worse than Paul Manafort? Manafort being in solitary (for violating the terms of his bail) is somehow akin to.....what....I don't know.....oh, plus the obligatory "no collusion".....I mean....Argle Bargle Al Capone......

He is incarcerated waiting trial only because he established, more than once, that he could not comply with the bond restrictions. While it is likely he will be credited for time served if convicted and sentenced, if he is exonerated he's just lost that time (but he is not now serving time).

Solitary confinement can be punitive, but it is also (as appears to be the case here) a means of protecting inmates who appear to be at risk. I'm relatively confident that he couldbe placed in general population if he chose to be.
