I make no apologies for my liberal view that we do not live in a "black and white/yes or no/

you're either with us or against us" world. I see shades of gray in nearly all aspects of life and believe "It depends" is the correct response to many questions which seem to demand a definitive all-encompassing answer. In my opinion, when W boasted "I don't do nuance!", he branded himself as a shallow twit.

That said, I can also deal with absolutes.

If Trump and his spawn and his fawning disciples in Congress do not eventually do serious prison time, we should drop the pretense of being a "nation of laws" and we should acknowledge that the equal protection clause and the rest of the high-sounding rhetoric in the Bill of Rights is just a fairy tale used to placate the little people.

There is no rational moral alternative. None.
