Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI have heard many different theories why Manafort hasn't flipped.
He is hoping for a pardon. That sounds risky and stupid.
He is afraid of the Russians. I am not sure I believe that one.
He thinks he can beat the charges. Maybe, he acts like a narcissist.
He is waiting to see what prison time he is looking at. If it's a life sentence he may try and make a deal after he is sentenced.
Mueller has not offered a deal. Mueller may not need him to flip. He has enough evidence from Gates and others who have flipped.

As trump apparently said, if Manafort flips [that would be very bad? or something like that]

Maybe he has some magic gloves to produce at the last minute?

(30,481 posts)There might be no interest in knocking down his charges to the point he would only be looking at 20 years instead of 300+.
They might have everything they need from him by way of a paper trail or further investigation into his acquaintances.
He might not be connected.
Lots of possible reasons.
