CNN has a general reputation of "middle of the road" (Fox = right, MSNBC = left in the most simplistic minds)...

For Trump, where ANY conflicting narrative is an existential threat, it is more important to attack CNN than an already assumed 'enemy network'...it also plays to his desire to control ALL media (hence the constant haranguing about NYT and Wash Po as well...).

You're a bully. You don't want to waste your time beating *every* kid up to make them your obedient servants.

What you do: You select the biggest kid on the playground and beat the snot out of him and make sure everyone knows it. All the others will fall into line for you after that.

He used nearly the entire tv time to promote his renovation of the old DC post office where the announcement was being held and only at the very end did he sheepishly say "President Obama was born in the US". CNN finally woke up and realized they were being used like a cheap whore. From that moment on they have been on him like white on rice.

It was the old post office, the one on Pennsylvania Avenue, that was renovated and eventually became the hotel. Union Station is still in use as a transportation center. Amtrak serves it, as well as Maryland and Virginia commuter rail services.

This outrage cannot go unchallenged.

Older fringe conservatives have been conditioned to hate anything tangentially associated with Jane Fonda, thus CNN is obviously liberal and unpatriotic. Fake memes are still made about Jane Fonda and reposted on FB and other social media for the over 40/50 crowd.

Fri Aug 3, 2018, 11:43 AM

basically created Trump as a national figure. He sold Trump across the nation as a strong authoritarian "winner" on The Apprentice, a show he created for Trump. And he gave Candidate Trump many millions of dollars worth of free air time. and priceless 24/7 media puffery, on CNN. He covered everything. Zucker claims he did it strictly for profits; but whatever his goals might have been, and whoever he could conceivably have conspired with, only a fool would believe that.

Then, after using him to expand right-wing power over the nation, CNN "turned on" Trump by starting to cover him more honestly and responsibly.

Let's remember, Trump was elected as part of a Republican populist rebellion against Big Money that right off the bat rejected all the candidates they brought to the primary. For them, this has all been making lemonade for themselves out of the lemon they have to work with, until they are able to discard it.

The implication was that it involved sex trafficking of minors through Trump’s modeling agency and that Ivanka is complicit.

I admit this is a hard one to swallow. But it does not seem out of character for a guy who feels empowered to walk in on teenage beauty contestants dressing. There are also rumors that Trump went to parties hosted by Jeffrey Epstein, who is also accused of statutory rape by multiple people.

If true, and I stress IF, it does make Pizzagate look like desperate projection.

If the other half of America listened to Rachel once or twice, they would listen more. Then he would be exposed for the obscenity that he is.

He thinks he must fight back or he's giving up. Giving up for him means he looses his gold apartment and plastic wife and his family members are imprisoned, and so is he.

He knows what he has done was wrong and still thinks there's a chance the law can be intimidated; I pray to God he is wrong.
