Bryan Fischer: God Won't Stop School Shootings Because Of Abortion

The American Family Association’s Bryan Fischer kicked off his “Focal Point” radio program yesterday with a Bible reading that he claimed explains why God refuses to prevent school shootings in America.

Reading from the book of Isaiah, Fischer insisted that God is entirely capable of preventing such deadly attacks and of hearing the prayers of those who ask him to do so, but that He can’t or won’t stop mass shootings because “His view is blocked” due to the nation’s toleration of abortion.

“We have these school shootings at Sandy Hook and other places and what we need to realize,” Fischer said, “is look, if you have a culture, you have a nation that’s spent 60 years telling God to get lost, then we should not be surprised when He’s not around when we want Him to be.”

“Now, what have we done to create this separation between us and a God whose ear can hear and whose arm can save, but he doesn’t?” Fischer asked, as he read again from Isaiah. “‘Your hands are defiled with blood,’ he says, ‘and your fingers with iniquity.’ So when we hold up our hands in prayer, you know what God sees when the people of our nation lift their hands to God in prayer? He sees the blood of 60 million innocent babies defiling our hands and dripping off our fingers, so He can’t hear, He can’t see, His view is blocked by the blood, the shed blood, of the innocents.”

And school shootings would still be a thing, and they would just go down the list. Oh, it's the gays. (Gays are taken care of) Oh, it's no prayer in school. (Prayer in school is instituted). Oh, it's Starbucks didn't have good Christmas cups this year...

But be quiet now. The adults are talking and working on real-world solutions.

9. God won't stop school shootings because God is not real and bullets are...

Invisible, psychotic sky daddies notwithstanding, the issue is bullets and availability and until those are actually addressed in meaningful ways everything else is just background noise.

The soul of the United States was executed at Sandy Hook and our total lack of change after that event marked this society as shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic for me...if the cold-blooded murder of 6-year old BABIES could not force meaningful change on us as a people and a nation, then it was already a corpse and the only remaining question was how long until the rot infected everything.

Nothing since that horrific day has changed my mind in the least and the more I see jackasses who profess their sky daddy can and will beat up everyone else's sky daddy, the more sickened I become...this is no goddamn different that if I started telling people my house cats are a holy trinity and unless and until they get more catnip, the school shooting will continue unabated. It is EXACTLY as valid and grounded in reality as "the blood of the innocents" blinding a supposedly omnipotent, omnipresent, benevolent 'god' with metaphors.

I am sick of religious hucksters being given wide berth to spout their craziness without being appropriately and widely ridiculed for it. You want to rub feces on yourself and call it 'fertilizing the spirit'? Be my guest, but only in the outdoor, metaphorical sense...in real life, get the fuck out of my face.

Not because abortion is illegal, but because women's healthcare is legal.

Good access to healthcare for women can stop lots and lots of unwanted and/or dangerous pregnancies. Of course, they probably keep records in most places around Europe. Here, it's frowned upon.
