No offense to Michael Jordan, but corporatist America has always been fond of him and now white supremacists think every AA athlete should model themselves after Jordan, I.e just dribble and sell shoes.

I am now seeing that a lot of people didn't get the "Like Mike" reference, which seemed surprising to me, so I'm thinking it's a generational thing.

That "Be Like Mike" ad is still in my head from the 1990s - it was very ubiquitous at the time.

Nowadays it's mostly a Jordan or LeBron debate, the ones doing the yapping don't remember Wilt, Russell, Oscar Robsinson, etc.

Look, the “Mike” quote is quite straightforward. For years the debate on sports talk has been who is the GOAT (Greatest NBA player of all time). Republicans hate change so they claim it is Michael Jordan. As an aside, these are the same assholes that won’t allow Major League Baseball to change with the times. Many other believe that LeBron is the GOAT. All the con was doing was sleighting Lebron by saying that Lebron is not the GOAT, Jordan is.
