The absence of truth

...and the presence of continuous lies, leads to fear, paranoia, anger, and distrust.

A democracy cannot survive under such conditions for very long. It requires freedom and trust in our institutions. Constant lies are like a cancer within our government.

Even if a President is intensely disliked, he can still lead if he is considered honest and trustworthy. However, if he is a liar, he will never be accepted by a majority of the people and it is impossible for him to lead our country. That is where we are today. We have a pathological liar in the White House.
