A really wild thought!

Wouldn't it be awesome if Democrats took the House in November and the Orange Idiot in Chief was impeached or resigned as well as that patsy Pence due to findings by the Mueller investigation. Then it would be the Republicans WORST NIGHTMARE! Madame President Pelosi. Now THAT would be Karma!!

67 votes.

I just don't think that this will happen. Spineless Repukes are too afraid of Trump base.

5. Perhaps they will resign

to avoid the trial. Pence can only pardon Trump if he temporarily is President...until that is, other dirt on him is exposed and forces them both to resign in order to avoid the embarrassment of a trial. It is true about the spineless Repukes, however, it depends I think what the investigation reveals. Treason, perhaps??

7. If Democrats can win the House and start a serious investigation

I think televised public hearings where morons like Don Jr, Jared Kushner, Carter Page and others testify before sharp questioners like Ted Lieu, Gerry Nadler, etc will cause public support for Donny Dollhands to shrink, if not plummet. Especially if they start throwing each other under the bus to save their own asses and/or one or more of them melt down under the spotlight.

Once that happens, Republicans may be emboldened to turn on Trump and it could swing votes in the Senate to "Guilty" if it comes to convicting for impeachment indictments.

A new republican veep would be appointed during the interim. They only need an hour.

if I am not mistaken and I think it's a hefty majority to do so.

25th Amendment
Section 2. Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.

10. the key point is that zero republicans will *ever* vote to transfer the white house to the democrats

it's a simple majority to confirm a new veep, but that actually doesn't matter.

what matters is that impeachment and removal takes at least one republican vote (we're nowhere near 67 votes in the senate, even in the best case scenario.)

even if we could somehow convince republicans to remove both donnie and pence, there's zero chance they'll ever agree to removing them in a way that hands the presidency over to a democrat. best case scenario (and ever this is very unlikely), they agree to remove both, but with a republican appointed veep in between who would then become president.

presumably someone not implicated in the whole russia scandal (yes, they'd have to dig deep), but still it would be an insanely right-wing bastard.

Senate and House members (Mitchell, Ryan, Nunes, and dozens of others) are just as caught up in this. They need to be discovered and indicted as well.
