Why did Trump send his incriminating tweet yesterday?

He did it for a reason. It wasn't a mistake.

There is some purpose behind it. But what is it?

Is he getting ready to answer some questions from Mueller and he wants to get it cleared up beforehand?

Is he wanting Don Jr to take the fall, with the promise of a pardon?

Is it a diversion for a much bigger story about to come out?

Whatever the case, I am sure he did it intentionally.

in the aftermath of a wave of Mueller indictments, including that issued for Stone and Junior. He can't worry about Mueller, who lives in a whole different sphere of influence. Mueller has him pegged. He thinks that only his Fanboys can save him.

All his life he’s gotten away with heinous stuff, unethical business dealings, disrespecting his wives and other women. Now as President he thinks he’s untouchable and his power and Russian connections will protect him. He’s managed to convince a sizable number of gullible people to follow him off the cliff.

Watching the Netflix 4 documentary series showed me he has always been the same unscrupulous person. Except now he ~might~ face real consequences. They have him in hiding today because he f’ed up yesterday with that tweet.

I don't think the timing is coincidental at all that Trump has a tete-a-tete with Hope Hicks and comes out tweeting. The problem is, as it usually is, that Trump has lost the thread. In his business dealings, he can shift reality all he wants. If they want to make their deal, the other parties have to conform to whatever reality Trump is currently experiencing. That doesn't work so well in a criminal investigation, and a complete reversal of his previous position doesn't serve him well. If any of Trump's attorneys could get it through to him that this isn't just another business negotiation, he wouldn't be cutting his own throat.

It does not help Trump to pardon anybody involved in any way with the crimes Trump could be charged with..... Once you are pardoned you lose your 5th Amendment right to refuse to testify. For example, if a person is pardoned for conspiring with others that person would then become available to be compelled to testify against the other co-conspirators.

As an aside, the basic notion of a pardon is that the person is guilty of the crimes, but relieved of the punishment.

...what is the remedy?

Can he be thrown into jail for contempt of court until he answers questions?

The ex-husband of a friend of mine ended up in jail for 10 years, I think, because he would not cooperate over some financial issues. He is apparently a major narcissist. I do not think he was ever convicted of anything but he just refused to cooperate with the court.

Can you be "pardoned" for contempt of court?

Being pardoned for contempt of court, a new and distinct crime, would not release him from being compelled to testify at the original trial. Guess I should never say never..... guess he could keep pardoning his contempt or pre-emptively pardon him for contempt to delay the process, but the optics of that would be disastrous.

And the greatest of these is foolish.

There's no 8 dimension chess here. He's not have some master plan, this wasn't some legal dodge. There's go grand strategy involved.

It's very simple. His feelings got hurt so lashed out at what hurt him to make himself feel better.

All he ever does, all he's ever done.

Like other bad tweets he's done. How long now before he or his minions start suggesting Hillary or Obama or other Democrats have committed reason. He's used this tactic over and over again making wild claims to diminish the impact of the truth when it comes out. Its also a tactic Joseph Goebbels used. His patterns are very obvious now, claim the opposite of the truth , and project it onto others first. He's telling us what he's done.

He always ran his mouth in NYC, where we thought he was a fool and ignored him. Trump probably believes we bought his B.S., cause again it's who he is. If he can't run his mouth, or fingers, then why is he President? He thinks, cause he doesn't have a mind for any legal thinking.

If it's negative, so what? He's used to that. He craves, desires, and needs attention at all times. He gets up at 3:00 a.m - he clearly does not like to spend time by himself, or at least unconnected to others on social media.

We put on the radio yesterday (we were at a place with no TV over the weekend), and when it came time for the CBS news at the top of the hour, there were three headlines and each one of them started with Trump's name. Clearly, it's what he wants, but it's no way to even run a company, much less a country. I'm reminded of the saying about officials in a game - if the officiating is good, you don't notice it. If it's bad, you end up talking more about the calls than about the actual game.
