Prosecutors have called Paula Liss as the
next witness to testify in the Manafort trial.
It is not Rick Gates, as defense attorney Kevin
Downing said it would be earlier this afternoon.

Prosecution calls Paula Liss to stand — not Gates
After redirect from prosecutor Uzo Asonye and a brief recross from Downing, Laporta was allowed to step down.

Prosecution then called Paula Liss to the stand — not Gates, as was expected.

Liss was one of the few unidentifiable people on the prosecution's witness list of 35 individuals.

Following LaPorta, Manafort's accountant, I am just guessing Liss is follow-up to what LaPorta testified to.

I cannot find much on Liss or her association to Manafort/Gates.
Anyone?

EDIT:

I see Herding Cats post below explains who she is.
Thanks.

"Now on the stand is Paula Liss, a senior special agent at the Treasury Department Financial Crimes Enforcement Network."

Also, see my post #27. What other crimes could those be? I don't want to make unwarranted assumptions, but could these indictments be some kind of groundwork for indictments to come?

I mean why would that even come up--obviously prompted by prosecutors...?

Mon Aug 6, 2018, 06:24 PM
Aug 2018

NEW YORK (Reuters) - A former U.S. Justice Department official has become the latest lawyer to join special counsel Robert Mueller's team investigating Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential election, a spokesman for the team confirmed.

Greg Andres started on Tuesday, becoming the 16th lawyer on the team, said Josh Stueve, a spokesman for the special counsel.

Most recently a white-collar criminal defense lawyer with New York law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell, Andres, 50, served at the Justice Department from 2010 to 2012. He was deputy assistant attorney general in the criminal division, where he oversaw the fraud unit and managed the program that targeted illegal foreign bribery.

OH LOOK: - from May 2011:

The revelations just keep coming in the trial of notorious mob boss Vincent 'Vinny Gorgeous' Basciano.

Less than two weeks after he was convicted of ordering the death of a former Mafia associate, another turncoat witness testified that the former Bonanno boss had planned to kill assistant U.S. attorney Greg Andres for issuing Basciano's wife with a subpoena.
