These four plus ep. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) and Rep. Billy Long (R-MO).
2. Rep. John Culberson (R-TX): The Texas Republican claimed he heard about Innate from media reports, but as the Houston Chronicle noted, its not clear which. At the time of his purchase, Innate was described as a tiny pharmaceutical company from Australia that has no approved drugs and no backing from flashy venture capital firms. The Chronicle pointed out that Culbersons past investment history does not square with his purchase of biotech stocks and his opponent, a research physician, has wondered what led Culberson to invest, since at the time he bought it in January there had been no published research articles or significant clinical trial updates on the drug, known as MIS416.
3. Rep. Mike Conaway (R-TX) is another Texas lawmaker who bought large shares in Innate. He does not appear to have purchased Innate stock at a discount.
4. Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO) sat Health Subcommittee of the Committee on Energy and Commerce at the time of his stock purchase, raising a possible conflict of interest, reports the Daily Beast.

(81,420 posts)2009. Republi-CON Mark Sanford, deep in the throes of his lovesick "Appalachian Trail" scandal:
https://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/06/24/fox-news-identifies-sanfo_n_220377.html
Update: Fox News has apologized for identifying Sanford as a Democrat. Read that apology here.
Additional Reporting By Sahil Kapur
When does an embattled Republican suddenly become an embattled Democrat? When Fox News is covering him, of course.
The network known for its conservative leaning ran footage of Mark Sanford admitting to an extramarital affair on Wednesday with a Chyron identifying the South Carolina Republican near tears as a D, for Democrat.
Media Matters has the screen grab on its site and notes that Fox News later changed Sanfords party affiliation to Republican.
-----------
AND it isn't just with Mark Sanford that Pox Noise made this mess:
https://crooksandliars.com/logan-murphy/shocking-fox-news-labels-disgraced-re
I think it's just automatic now. When a high-profile Republican gets into trouble, Fox News steps in to mislead their sheep viewers by labeling them as Democrats.
Here's a short list of Fox's chyron hackery:
John McCain - Democrat
Joe Lieberman - Democrat (Had been, but I think this was after he'd formally declared himself an Independent.)
Arlen Spector - Democrat (when he was still a Republican!)
Mark Foley - Democrat
Media Matters also caught Fox listing a Democratic strategist as Bush's head of FEMA -- because his name happened to be Michael Brown. Oh, and we can't forget the time they announced Rep. William Jefferson's indictment using footage of Congressman John Conyers. They apologized to their audience, but never to Conyers personally.
I'm sure it was just an oversight, just like all the rest...riiiight. Have I missed any?
Dave N:
It's almost a clockwork thing.
Whenever Fox News wants you to forget that someone is actually a Republican, they, ah, accidentally label them a Democrat on their chryon and let it go. So they did that today, as you can see, while Mark Sanford was explaining that he had been in Argentina to screw around on his wife. (They corrected it in later chryons.)
Hardly the first time this has happened.

(81,420 posts)With apologies to "We Are the World," U.S.A. for Africa
I'm rewriting the chorus which normally reads
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day, so let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day, just you and me
From the massively inspiring 1985 musical, cultural, and philanthropic masterpiece, whose catchy refrain popped into my mind immediately as I watched the Chris Collins scandal coverage roll out. My husband and I do that a lot. It's one of the - uh - I guess you'd call them brain games because they make you think creatively. Like - how quickly can you come up with new lyrics to that song, inspired by republi-CON grifters far and wide? While I was watching the breaking news, the line "They Are the Swamp..." (Weird, I know. Stan Freberg and Allan Sherman were my childhood heroes.) I bet you've done it, too.
ADJUSTED for Collins & friends, and their little dog Donald:
They are the SWAMP
They are CORRUPTION
They are the ones into cheating, theft, and mass OBSTRUCTION!
There's the law they're breaking
And all ill-gotten gains!
It's true we'll throw them all in jail, just wait and see!
But from the "but seriously folks" department, the widely hailed and Grammy and MTV Video Music Award-winning genuine article, lest we forget.

But the allegations against him, along with the other lawmakers holdings, highlight how members of Congress face few restrictions on their investments, creating the potential for conflicts of interest, or the appearance of a conflict.
-------
Collins, one of the biotechnology companys largest shareholders who served on the board and had access to information that wasnt public, is accused of tipping off his son about the trial results for a drug to treat a form of multiple sclerosis, according to federal prosecutors in New York. His son Cameron Collins then passed along the information to others. The son and others who received the tip sold more than 1.78 million shares in the days before the trial results were announced, avoiding losses of $768,000, according to the indictment.
