However, I have grown up, at least a little. And I have become painfully aware that "her America" was not a very nice place for far too many of my fellow citizens. From a Buddhist perspective, hers is the very point of view that keeps her and her ilk in fear, resentment, and bigotry, because change is all there is. All things are impermanent. Everything is always in the flux of change. We have the capacity to deal with change, and find beneficial ways to take advantage of change. But no ------- it is that relentless attachment to having things be the same that ensures our eternal dissatisfaction with the ways things are.

And of course, under all that racist bigotry is the fear that our children and grandchildren will marry and have children with people of color. Well I lived in a multicultural environment. The most physically attractive people around were of mixed race. And even so, they weren't all that different than people anywhere. They wanted to be happy. To fall in love. To know their children were safe and went to a good school. To provide for their families. To have interesting and rewarding work.

It's been a huge and very unpleasant awakening, creating a great deal of anxiety in a type of people who by definition do not deal with change and uncertainty well. They'll need time, but most will calm down. Others will continue dying off.

Large numbers of us always liked the real America, of course. Ingraham can deny it all she wants to her aging, mean little audience (3M out of 330M), but the real America elected Obama twice and followed that with our first woman president. Horrible demographics that we are.

America doesn't exist as we know it because of the hate, racism, misogyny, bigotry, and more that you and your fellow right winger spew out every day, and so give cover to your fellow travelers in hate. If it weren't for that, we'd be fine. We'd have issues to address, sure. But you and your kind would be back under the rocks you crawled out from under, and the rest of us could get on with our lives.

I've had my good IT job with three different companies outsourced to India...to IBM Global Services....three times since 2001

Company owners/management have have brought in H1B visa folks....made us train them, in order to get our severance.....and then sent our jobs overseas to be supported by people over there. Left us scrambling for lesser paying scarcer jobs.

They think nothing of sending our American held jobs overseas...leaving us with no equivalent employment.
