I appreciate him on so many levels but I can't get past his grandstanding by bashing the Democratic Party this close to the midterms.
It's not the presidential election yet.
Seems selfish.
Not very bright politically and potentially damaging to the party in my opinion.

(16,386 posts)I will lose a lot of respect for him if he actually does run.

(19,567 posts)It's mind boggling, but I think he believes he's embarking on his 2020. Obviously, without any guidance from people who know how not to alienate people in the party you plan on running in.

(13,058 posts)Whose won quite a few high profile cases. He's articulate, well spoken, hard charging and the Idiot and his minions are afraid of him. These are qualities especially needed in these times. Do the research before u bash him. He's more qualified than many other candidates aspiring to the presidency.
Proud Liberal Dem
(24,437 posts)but that doesn't make him qualified for the Presidency.

(11,575 posts)Its a trial lawyer tactic. Although Avenatti should know better Hillary actually won.

(2,959 posts)guy (61) I believe it's time for the venerated silverbacks of the party to mentor and support the younger candidates who are emerging.
Casting our party as weak and he's the savior.

(53,841 posts)It is time for a fighter. It may not be him but we know the repugs won't stop cheating so we need someone who isn't afraid to challenge them.

(63,221 posts)It might not be what we want to hear, but we need to face reality if we want to win.
I love this party, but even I recognize that there are some thing that we can improve upon.

What good does this bring for November?

Generic Brad
(14,275 posts)We may not need his leadership, but we do need someone who is not afraid of throwing out truth bombs without fear of repercussions. He may be the person who forces a segment of the country to finally come to terms with the corruption of Team Trump.
If that resonates with Democrats and earns him the nomination, I will get behind him. In these crazy times, that very well could happen. It would surprise me, but it is within the realm of possibility if the stars align and he benefits from the perfect storm.
He is in a position at this time to say things other Democratic leaders cannot. He is not my cup of tea, but I do see value in his combativeness. Somebody's got to play the role of outraged crusader battling for justice. It's just odd to see it be a Tony Stark/Bruce Wayne type character.
oberliner
(58,724 posts)So he could very well get the nomination on star power alone.
I would point out that John Delaney has already announced that he is running for the nomination. Ever heard of him?

(12,398 posts)And as far as all the glorious experience, it was the experienced gang that shoved Al Franken out the back door with an added boot up his behind, ridding our party of one of our strongest players. I really cant see Avenatti playing that game, as he seems more interested in taking out the other team.
Ill listen to what he has to offer.

(6,713 posts)"When they go low, we hit harder."
When will Democrats start following this advice? Instead, Democrats act "concerned" and lose elections. Force is the only thing that works against these GOP monsters.

(23,968 posts)looks to me like he's going out of his way to draw fire. who knows if he runs in the primary or not? if he does, you can vote for someone else. if he doesn't, your issue is solved. i'm not seeing a problem right now, he's operating as an ally.
Armymedic88
(251 posts)It might light some fire under our candidates asses and lead to an even stronger finish! We need to realize that what he's saying isn't to be taken personally by members of the party, rather a chance to reignite the fire needed to take down this tyrant!

(47,564 posts)My attitude is he's a lawyer representing his client, and therefore yes, he's selfish in the extreme, but that everything he says is directed at Trump and Trump's attorneys and I don't have to listen to a word of it other than for entertainment value, Iggo said runonsentencedly.
