at Washington Grizzly Stadium here in Missoula, Montana from the comfort of my back yard. The concert is a mile or so away and all of us here in the hood are enjoying the benefit of not being in the mayhem but still hearing the show as plain as day. The concert is benefit for Montanas Senator Jon Testers re-election campaign. We just heard Eddie Vedder imploring the crowd to get out the vote and that Election Day should be a national holiday...but until it is, we have to do whatever it takes to make sure our votes count. Voting is the great equalizer for all of us. The crowd went wild...

(23,314 posts)Pearl Jam is actually here fairly often...but on this crystal clear summer night, you can hear them very well and they sound incredible. Love that they support Jon Tester so faithfully.
They just performed John Lennons Imagine. Beautiful and poignant.

(17,160 posts)About 20 years ago I won tickets to 'Mozart by Moonlight' in the Botanic Gardens. Complete with champagne, picnic hamper of fine foods etc. There were a few singers, string quintet, a piano - all very civilized and al fresco on the lawns - until Pearl Jam started playing at the outdoor concert stage 500 metres away behind the trees. Completely ruined the mood!

(23,314 posts)I'll bet it did ruin the mood! Our little city was turned upside down yesterday, so I get it. It was fun to listen to from a distance and so glad that it was a successful fund raiser for a Dem Senator.
