The utter collapse of Donald Trump's 'best people' boast

(CNN)As a candidate, Donald Trump would famously boast that if elected, he'd "surround myself only with the best and most serious people" -- adding: "We want top-of-the-line professionals."

The first 18 months of his presidency have repeatedly revealed the fallacy of that pledge, as myriad members of Trump's Cabinet and senior staff have departed -- often under suspicious circumstances -- even as the President himself has railed against the ineptitude of people who still work for him.

Just this weekend, Trump dealt with two major staff problems -- both of which, in different ways -- he created.

he first was a series of interviews by Omarosa Manigault Newman, a former aide to the President, in which she alleged -- among other things -- that she had been offered money to stay silent after leaving the White House. Manigault Newman also claimed that she secretly taped White House chief of staff John Kelly firing her in the Situation Room. And on Monday morning, she released an audio recording to NBC's "Today" of an apparent phone conversation with Trump that suggested he was unaware of her firing before it happened.

(Omarosa's tell-all memoir of her time in the White House comes out this week.)

The second came when Trump -- amid a now-regular Twitter tirade regarding the special counsel probe -- derided Attorney General Jeff Sessions as "scared stiff and Missing in Action." (And, yes, that capitalization is in the original tweet.)

The twin episodes highlight the "why" behind the massive staff volatility in Trump's White House: He relies almost totally on his gut in the hiring process, he plays aides against each other for sport, he runs incredibly hot and cold on staff, and he is more than willing to publicly embarrass or shame those who work for him.

He knew. He was just afraid to tell her the truth. He's always afraid of the truth.

She has been with Trump for quite a while, her tapes are of excellent quality for being secretly recorded, they sound as if they were taped in a studio.

Think about it, Omarosa can claim that Trump is a racist, a bigot, a misogynist and that will thrill his base, while Trump can call the black woman (Omarosa) all kinds of names. Trump will look like a tough guy to his base.

admin that jine with this idea. Lewandowski, Stone, Bannon. Acrimonious break ups, then they're all hunky dory again.

Doesn't hurt to look at the situation with a skeptical eye, take the break up with a grain of salt, then still pound him with all the elements of the tapes that are real:

he's out of touch, doesn't run things;
he lies always about things, so he did know she was getting fired and lied to his underling about it;
he's disloyal, loyalty is a one way street, no matter how 'great' he says his underlings are, he'll destroy them the second he feels like it;
he's openly racist, all the time, including behind the scenes when caught in hidden tapings;
he's inept, bumbling, incompetent and crooked, says he 'knows all the best people, puts all the best people into his admin', then says how scummy and bad and stupid and vicious and crooked his 50th high-profile eliminated appointee is.

Take this flap for a ride, but still watch where it's going, I agree. He does want to sooth the jangled nerves of his racist nazi buddies, who don't see an actual benefit (in terms of increasing their own power on the street or in the gov) to Bannon's 'unite european nazis' tour.

He says the opposite of the truth. HE can only get lowlifes like himself to work for him because they are so corrupt and are serial liars and can't be trusted. None of them like him, and know he'll never be honest or loyal to anyone, except maybe putin, for now anyway. He know he can't hire the best people but uses his propaganda, and repeats that lie over and over again, many times with the media helping him repeat his lie he wants to imply over and over again. The media needs to stop showing his tweets, and his clips of lies , and stop being used by their propaganda machine probably developed especially for this by the GRU and putin.

Those are his only associates, exclusively, all the time, for half a century.

Other lowlifes swarm toward him and jump on the bandwagon to take the lowlife express to money and power. Then he votes them off the island in a reality tv breakup, when it's necessary or convenient.
