Fox News compared 'socialist' Denmark to Venezuela...

Last edited Tue Aug 14, 2018, 04:35 PM - Edit history (1)

“Denmark — like Venezuela — has stripped people of their opportunities. Because that’s the reality of socialism. As one person who studied Denmark said: Nowadays all the kids graduating from schools in Denmark, they want to start cupcake cafes,” anchor Trish Regan from the Fox Business Network announced last week. “And no one wants to work.”

“Not only is school free; they actually pay you. ... You know what happens then? Nobody graduates from school. ... They just stay in school,” Regan went on to say, referring to university-level education.

The Danish government wasn’t very amused. “We are working much more than Americans and at the same time ranking as the worlds best in Work-Life-Balance,” Danish Finance Minister Kristian Jensen wrote Monday on Twitter. “You should come to Denmark if you dare be confronted with facts.”

Someone on Fox News lies - which is a given thing, and no one in Denmark takes them seriously...

Paul Krugman: Denmark, where tax receipts are 46 percent of GDP compared with 26 percent in the U.S., is arguably the most social-democratic country in the world. According to conservative doctrine, the combination of high taxes and aid to “takers” must really destroy incentives both to create jobs and to take them in any case. So Denmark must suffer from mass unemployment, right? But...

I was making 12 dozen muffins a day to help with a pet rescue operation (visit the adoption event and get a free muffin... donations gladly accepted).

I would get up at 3am to start making batches of dough, baking would run continuously for almost 6 hours... and I had help.

Made the rescue operation generally $250 a day in additional donations for their adoption events. That buys like 10 vet visits for neutering (highly discounted rates from local vets) and spaying or large bags of pet food, gas for the rescue van, new enclosures, pet toys, etc, etc.

Denmark is also a leader in renewable energy, although I think to a conservative that is a negative.

It won't be a referendum on the Dotard.

It'll be a referendum on "Truth, Justice and the American Way."

Imagine living in a country where you weren't terrified 24-7 of losing your job, your health insurance, and your home! All your choices vanish just like that. How are people going to be sufficiently motivated if the threat of dying, broke and homeless, isn't an ever-present reality? What fresh hell would this be if people had the time and the leisure to improve themselves and live their lives to their own potential and on their own terms, rather than racing pell-mell down life's path with wolves constantly snapping at your heels?

A terrified work force is a motivated work force, and a distracted work force is too preoccupied to do anything about the systemic theft of the wealth created by their labor.

My sister and her husband never worked for the government although her husband provided medical care for the state one weekend per month during his entire private practice. It's part of the free education package. Sis had her own business and still makes her beautiful stuff. Not one of my three nephews or their wives works for the State.

That is bullshit.
