ALEXANDRIA, Va. (Reuters) - Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort’s lawyer on Tuesday said his legal team chose not to mount a defense in his trial over alleged tax and bank fraud because U.S. prosecutors had not met the legal bar needed to prove their case.

“We’ve rested because Mr. Manafort and his legal team do not think the government has met its proof,” Kevin Downing told Reuters.

I hope your invoices are all paid up, because if your client goes to prison, you've been working for free.

Or, maybe because Paul's broke you've been working for free all this time, and you didn't want to throw good money after bad by mounting a preposterous defense to the damning documentary evidence and testimony against your client.

if Trump pardons him. All these people belong in jail. There is something wrong with our system - if these criminals can get away with crimes because a criminal himself is the president.

9. Um, that is not something YOU get to decide. This is supposed to be a court of law
