Brennan: Trump worked with Russians and now he's desperate

WASHINGTON (AP) — Former CIA Director John Brennan said Thursday that President Donald Trump yanked his security clearance because his campaign colluded with the Russians to sway the 2016 election and is now desperate to end the special counsel’s investigation.

In an opinion piece in The New York Times, Brennan cites press reports and Trump’s own goading of Russia during the campaign to find Democrat Hillary Clinton’s missing emails.

Trump himself drew a direct connection between the revocation of Brennan’s clearance and the Russia probe, telling The Wall Street Journal the investigation is a “sham,” and “these people led it!”

“So I think it’s something that had to be done,” Trump said.

He wouldn't be so opposed to the Mueller investigation. He would want to get to the bottom of it. He would want to lift the cloud off the Presidency and off the country. But, he obstructs and blocks at every opportunity.

If he had nothing to hide, he would let the Special Counsel do his job. Simple as that.

He kept both of those activities out of sight. Trump flaunts them in public. He's a dope.

******
Trump has now fired, or taken away the security clearance, or had quit every single person
who briefed him in Jan. 2017 of Russia's dirty work in the 2016 election and Trump has
now fired every single FBI agent who Comey talked to about his meeting w/Trump where
Trump asked him to stop the Russia investigation and to go easy on Flynn.

Trump thinks he can fire his way out of this mess.

..... the election is now gone and or had their security clearances pulled.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/07/18/world/europe/trump-intelligence-russian-election-meddling-.html

WASHINGTON — Two weeks before his inauguration, Donald J. Trump was shown highly classified intelligence indicating that President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia had personally ordered complex cyberattacks to sway the 2016 American election.

The evidence included texts and emails from Russian military officers and information gleaned from a top-secret source close to Mr. Putin, who had described to the C.I.A. how the Kremlin decided to execute its campaign of hacking and disinformation.

snip

The Jan. 6, 2017, meeting, held at Trump Tower, was a prime example. He was briefed that day by John O. Brennan, the C.I.A. director; James R. Clapper Jr., the director of national intelligence; and Adm. Michael S. Rogers, the director of the National Security Agency and the commander of United States Cyber Command.

The F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, was also there; after the formal briefing, he privately told Mr. Trump about the “Steele dossier.” That report, by a former British intelligence officer, included uncorroborated salacious stories of Mr. Trump’s activities during a visit to Moscow, which he denied.

BTW every time Trump says witch hunt he is lying.
