What can Democrats actually do?

I see a lot of tweets by Democratic Senators and Representatives pointing out that the Kavanaugh records are being withheld. We know that already.

What I am not seeing is what steps, if any, the Democrats can take to derail this horrendous nominee.

For instance, can they file in court to obtain these records?

It would require the committee to file the suit and the GOP controls it. They could file a private one, but it wouldn't hold anything up. The GOP runs the senate.
