This is the kind of thing that would be the end of the road in the Senate for many nominees to even minor jobs. But for SCOTUS?

I wish just *one* Dem senator had boycotted the Clinton "impeachment", on the grounds that he/she would simply refuse to take any oath administered by William Rehnquist on account of his blatant perjury. It wouldn't have mattered in the end, and one member of the Senate would show a little profile in courage. Of course, it never happened...
