(58,785 posts)the effects of increased land clearing and greatly increased population because those are factors that can also be worked on. Future projections for many nations are encouraging as populations will actually start decreasing mostly on their own, but India's are not so good.
(Note that, though U.S. projections assume some growth, birth rates for the U.S. born middle classes have been well below population maintenance levels for some while.)

One of our DUers was flying to join his family in Japan in a region of major rains and flooding -- while a typhoon was approaching no less. Unfortunately, if he posted on it later I missed it.
