This is why the Republicans are stalling: Kavanaugh.

This is their game plan. They get Kavanaugh in the Supreme Court and Trump reigns. He gets his Constitutional crisis resolved and he turns around and pardons everyone.

It's not just the election where we need to prevail. We need to stop the Kavanaugh appointment. When that happens, the Republicans will come to their senses.

After the interview with Brennan and Maddow last night, everyone is wondering why the Republicans are failing to take action. The answer is, they are stalling because they think Kavanaugh will provide them with a remedy.

As Nunes said, "All this goes away." They know that this is their end game.

"Republicans will come to their senses"....

That ain't going to ever happen. We are in deep shit,... Rethugs have zero intentions to uphold the US Constitution and perform their obligations for oversight of the Executive Branch.

The more dictatorial trDump becomes the deeper Rethugs will dig in to defend his actions to the hilt.

They have grabbed the powers of governance and have no intentions to relinquish that power now at their full disposal. The only move Rethugs will make is to gain a tighter grip of the power they have over us and by design continue to dismantle our Democracy so it slowly becomes a faded memory.

I think sometimes we liberals and progressives are a bit blue eyed when it comes to all the hope we are placing in the mid-terms. I say to my fellow comrades of left-wing confession: Twice they have stolen an election from the rightfully elected. With Bush they get their practice, with trump they perfected their methods and brought in (foreign) help to insure their success. They know if they should lose power not only will Kavanaugh not be confirmed, but many, hell most, of them are going to jail. Not only will they do it again, but in every interview when some scumbag republican comes on TV and tells the nation that collusion is no crime they are telling us they will do it again. And after they do it, they will tell the nation it was justified. They have destroyed (not destroying, destroyed) our constitutional republic and have set it on the path of dictatorship. I will vote, but I have zero faith in the system. There is no going back to what we had. I think it's time many on the left begin to accept the reality of what we are actually dealing with. This is a war, and we are not winning.

and still hold all the levers of government. Democrats do not have the power to stop the Kavanaugh appointment. In fact, some Democratic Senators might face a choice of voting for the appointment or losing in November.
That "game plan" started with the Republican refusal to vote on Garland.

I have watched as Republicans ignored the process and changed the goal posts in order to get what they want. And Democrats accepted it, every time.

Now is the time to dig deep and think of the next move. Those Democrats who fear the next election, fuck it. Now is the time to fall on your sword for the good of America's future.

That "fall on your sword stuff" doesn't give Democrats a majority in the Senate. "Live to fight another day" would be my preference for

True Democrats would recommend reversals as a remedy. Especially when we can focus on Mitch McConnell's actions as being complicit in this criminal activity.

Democratic politicians do not seem to be very good at thinking outside the box. That's why we were such easy targets. They know we will roll over.

and that is the box that Democratic politicians can't think outside. Congressman take an oath to not step outside that box.

We can recommend anything, but as long as the GOP controls the Senate, we cannot legally stop them from approving Trump's nominees.
