Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsWill Mueller be emboldened after the Manfort verdict?
Or will he be angry?
Depending on the verdict, he may feel emboldened to make a big move?
In either event, it will probably be a transitional point in his investigation. Since his office is mostly silent on what is happening in the investigation, we can probably read the reactions from Trump and the White House, about the direction Mueller is going?
In my opinion, the heat is going to get much hotter. The anxiety level within the Trump circle is going to get much higher. The hatred and propaganda will probably increase in volume, as Mueller makes more and more demands on the White House.
There will be more threats about firing or revoking security clearances or character assassinations as the heat is turned up.
I think the activity level will increase dramatically after the Manafort verdict.

(10,437 posts)Across the bow for all future indictments that will be coming. Trump can not save you. Remember, manafort can be tried in state courts, convicted in state courts and die in state prisons. Nothing trump can do.

(32,086 posts)Not the crimes he committed that are directly related to Trump. He has been laundering money for the Russians for decades. He's dirty as shit, even without Trump. There are probably many dozens of other counts he'll be brought up on, regardless of how these turn out. He'd better hope he's convicted on federal charges, because federal prisons are a lot nicer than Attica and Sing Sing.

(32,086 posts)I don't think the verdicts will make a difference either way. He works at his own pace. BTW, Manafort up on multiple counts. There will be around 20 verdicts, not just one. I doubt he's going to get away with everything for which he was charged.

(7,636 posts)It's important that this investigation is seen as totally legit and with merit and a bunch of "not guilty " in this first trial would give the deployable an ability to scream, " See, Witch Hunt"!!

I think thats what scares The Asset the most. He gets zero reaction, zero response from Mueller.
