California man dressed as deputy arrested at airport

On Wednesday at 8:05 p.m., deputies were called to Terminal A of the Sacramento International Airport on reports of an unoccupied vehicle — possibly belonging to law enforcement — parked in a loading zone.

When the responding deputy arrived at the airport, he found the vehicle, and soon after met the suspect, 33-year-old Brad Beaver of Folsom, as he was leaving the terminal on foot. At the time, Beaver had the appearance of a deputy: He was wearing a full sheriff’s department uniform, complete with a duty belt with a Glock semi-automatic handgun. He reportedly told the responding deputy, who didn’t know him, that he worked at the jail ...

Suspecting something might be up, the deputy arrested Beaver and placed him in his patrol vehicle. An investigation revealed that Beaver was never employed by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department, nor has he worked as a peace officer anywhere else in California. He was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on charges of illegal possession of weapons and impersonating a peace officer. He is being held on $1,000,000 bail.

Detectives went to Beavers home where they reportedly found ballistic vests with law enforcement markings; badges and insignias worn by sheriff’s department personnel; an assault-style rifle, and a large amount of ammunition.

According to the sheriff: https://www.sacsheriff.com/media/Release.aspx?id=1841

So strange. He didn't want to pay to park? He didn't want to just circle until his friend was on the sidewalk? I haven't picked anyone up at that airport, but it seems to have a "cell phone lot," as many airports do, where you can wait until your friend calls to let you know that they're out waiting on the sidewalk.

This guy risked (and lost) everything just so he could leave his car and head inside?

the haircut...doesn't look like your garden variety gun-humper. He was found to have a number of items that are not available legally to non law-enforcement such as ballistic vests and a projectile-style stun gun. But he was unaware of local sheriff's department procedure so as to alarm the responding officer. There's more to this story...

Although California isn’t one of them. You can buy them through the mail, just like Lee Harvey Oswald. The October 1 shooter was outfitted for a one man war and bought 99% locally (his favorite gun show was held at a government owned facility, in fact, meaning us taxpayers helped subsidize the largest mass shooting in American history both before — by giving him a good deal on ammo — and after, with hundreds of millions in an unimaginable array of bills).
