Should Mitt Romney fire his spokeswoman?

The Right lashes out at Romney spokeswoman, Andrea Saul, after she publicly touts his Massachusetts health-care law — an unmentionable part of Romney's past

Best Opinion: Gateway Pundit, New Republic, Daily Caller

Conservatives, led by controversy-generator Ann Coulter, are demanding the head of Mitt Romney's spokeswoman, Andrea Saul, for touting "RomneyCare," her candidate's Massachusetts health-care law, while responding to a pro-Obama ad. Republicans opposed to ObamaCare said Saul betrayed their cause by praising a law that, like the president's initiative, includes a health-insurance mandate. Rush Limbaugh eviscerated Saul, calling her comment a "gold mine" for Democrats because it came off as an endorsement of ObamaCare. Was Saul just doing her job, or must Romney fire her to appease the GOP base he needs to win the election?

Absolutely. Saul has to go: Coulter says big GOP donors should not give Romney another dime if he doesn't fire Saul, says Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit, and she's absolutely right. Praising Romney's health-insurance mandate while promising to get rid of President Obama's initiative amounts to "playing kissy-kissy" with the opposition. That's no way to win an election.
"Ann Coulter: 'Anyone who donates to Mitt Romney ought to call and say if Andrea Saul is not fired they will not give another dime"

¬snip¬
The question is, why did Romney hire her: "Romney seems to have intentionally promoted staffers who are largely unknown — and in some cases hostile — to the conservative movement," says Matt K. Lewis at The Daily Caller. Saul, who, in her last job as an aide to Florida GOP turncoat Charlie Crist, once called Marco Rubio a scam artist, is only the most glaring example. Coulter wants Romney to fire Saul, "but a better question is: Why did he hire her in the first place?"
"If 'personnel is policy,' Mitt Romney has serious problems"

They hate Mitt and are looking for any reason to slam him.

that Rmoney fired his spokesperson because she told the truth.

Remember he likes firing people. This would be a boon to Obama.

Mitt Romney’s ‘Kiss My Ass’ Press Secretary Returns To Campaign Trail Next Week

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney‘s recently-concluded overseas trip started with an inauspicious bang in London, and ended with an exclamation point in Poland, courtesy of a riled-up press corps and a short-tempered traveling press secretary named Rick Gorka. While Gorka, who told reporters to “Kiss my ass” and “shove it” when they shouted questions to Romney at Poland’s Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, was reported to be “taking some time off” after the trip, Politico‘s Dylan Byers reports that he will return shortly:

Mitt Romney’s traveling press secretary Rick Gorka will return to the campaign trail next week following “time off” after the campaign’s overseas trip, a campaign adviser tells POLITICO.

ABC News reported yesterday that Gorka was “taking some time off” following a trip that culminated in a heated confrontation with the press at a Polish monument site. Gorka, frustrated with reporters who were shouting questions at the candidate, told them to “kiss my ass” and “shove it” — an outburst that exposed a deeper rift between the Romney campaign and the traveling press corps.

Some in the press corps hoped Gorka’s “time off” would lead to an internal reshuffling. It appears personnel, if not approach, will remain status quo.

that Romney is really sort of liberal....if you break it down the voters he really needs are moderate/swing voters who might like the idea of universal health care...

They should have her at the top of the ticket instead. Then put Romney in a straight jacket, he is a danger to others, listening to him has been known to induce comas.

then tell Mitt Romney how to run. Isn't this the problem with the current political party. It use to be you could pretend to be moderate and the base was ok with lying during the election season. Now they freak out when their national party goes a little moderate and by moderate I mean praising a law championed by the heritage foundation. What a nightmare when the parrots think they are the Captain.

He needs to stay on course. Show them he's the brilliant mind he believes he is, and continue to believe he's got this in the bag since he's got the most money.

That's my suggestion.
