Lots of "he loved it" type comments from people while trying to paint Argento as a victim of extortion. Looks like MeToo is eating itself today on social media.

Male teacher sleeps with 17 year old female- people are disgusted and call justice.

Female teacher sleeps with 17 year old male student- people say how lucky he is and say things like “where were these teachers when I was in school”.

Same exact thing at play here. If you swapped the genders and left every other factor the same the responses would be totally different.

That being said there are PLENTY of young women who are attracted to older men because the men their own age seem immature or uninteresting.

These discussions are good for our culture, perhaps, if the culture starts talking and thinking more deeply about sexuality and healthy sexual responsibility. There’s so much selfishness embedded in these stories and far too little respect and empathy.

We are an eighth inch deep with a lot of blind spots, as a culture.

And this new generation sure is different.

It’s hard when someone we admire does something terrible. Our first instinct is to lash out at the victim - what did they do wrong?

This is, ironically, why #metoo is so important. Victims (male or female) are constantly treated the same way - especially when the perpetrator is admired in the community. Everyone wants to cling to the idea they had of the perpetrator, despite that idea being shattered.

It doesn't absolve Weinstein of his crimes, it doesn't harm the #MeToo movement, it's just what it is. It's a shame Bourdain was involved with this woman in his final days.
