The fact is that victims of sexual assault tend to assault, and/or be assaulted again.

It's all part of the sexual assault trauma syndrome. We need a massive system of free therapy for these victims, or we will continue to have more and more of them.

Here's one that says yes: https://aifs.gov.au/cfca/publications/effects-child-abuse-and-neglect-adult-survivors

Here's one that says no:

But Asia Argento was an adult and I don't know of any studies on the subject of abuse survivors becoming abusers themselves.

And to think I would subject someone to my fucked up life is , frankly, bullshit.
Yeah, I've heard this crap before.
In my experience it is utter bullshit.

You’re inflating and generalizing a complicated issue. There are kids who are traumatized by abuse and become confused and more easily preyed upon, and there are children who are preyed upon and so in their innocence believe sexual activity to be something different from those not exposed to it in that way at that age. Sometimes they act out as kids and sometimes it bleeds into adulthood in ways that victimizes and perpetuates.

But you can’t conflate it all. And the vast majority of those exposed to sexual activity at an age where they shouldn’t be, or who as older people have it used as a tool of inappropriate power against them never repeat that behavior themselves.

You just can’t make the argument that simply and in a one size fits all way. I’m not excusing anything, but there is a spectrum, and it’s not as pervasive as you imagine.
