My first gut reaction reading this thread of QAnon conspiracy followers was to laugh at ignorance

and revel in how gullible they are.
My second reaction was to be afraid of how ignorant people can be manipulated in this way.
Apparently, their families hate them now...

“I’m sleeping on the couch again tonight because I had a flair up,” wrote a QAnon believer who calls himself “Covpepe1776.” “I hope this turns out to all be truer than true. My wife wants to divorce me soon possibly because she thinks I’m in a cult group for reading this stuff. It sucks. I’m do sick over it.”

“My daughter and brother will not speak to me,” wrote another believer. “Since my mom and dad are dead, I have none of my original family.”

“I’m serious, the MSM is responsible for this sh*t,” wrote one QAnon believer while describing how his own mother recently accused him of being a conspiracy nut. “How many families have been fighting for the past two-years? Breakups. divorces, fired, estranged families and ex-friends. God damn the MSM, I can’t wait anymore. Let’s just sue them now.”

If you don't know, QAnon is a conspiracy theory that posits that all presidents elected before Trump were part of a secret global ring of pedophiles that the president is now currently working behind the scenes to expose.

You want a laugh while you cry?here you go....

1. I think it's clear now that this whole Q thing should be ignored.

It's a coalition of incels, nutcases, and wackadoos. I believe it will disappear shortly.

yes, but the question we need to ask now is are they dangerous?
because if that is a yes, like that guy who shot up the pizza place, they need to be monitored for danger to themselves and others.
The reactions they have in this thread to their family members means some of them (the family members) could be in danger.

10. I see them as a distraction, really.

I don't think being distracted is a good idea right now. Instead, I want to be focused on the goal of winning back control of the House, at least, as well as my own state legislature.

No time for the QAnons just now.

4. Do not underestimate the sheer numbers of the forgotten and ugly

Have you ridden a subway or been to a Walmart lately?

This country is FULL of the types you mentioned along with millions of other forgotten, hated, lonely or otherwise invisible people who have been left behind by life. It is why .45 won the presidency.

Allegedly.

9. There's no way to reach them, so I focus on people

who can be reached, but who are not active.

However, yes, I have ridden on the subway and I've been to Walmart. There are all sorts of people in both situations. I don't know them, unless I take the time to know them. I try not to make assumptions about who they are, unless I do take the time to find out.

Ugly is in the brain of the beholder, I'd say. It's not a word I use to describe people's appearance. Ever.

14. These people probably had some mental health issues to begin with

and their families have probably had difficulty over other problems.

I know a couple who are Trumptard conspiracy nutters. They are hoarders, the husband hasn't had a job in over 5 years and has always been unable to stay employed. The wife has been diagnosed with serious mental health issues and I suspect the husband has mental health problems as well. Their child has severe ADD.

I think these are the kinds of people that dismiss reputable news sources and are drawn to conspiracy and fake new sources.
