However, three people familiar with the intelligence tell NBC News that there is a classified basis for Nelson's assertion, which he made at a public event after being given information from the leaders of the Senate Intelligence Committee. The extent and seriousness of the threat remains unclear, shrouded for reasons of national security.
...
When he made the remarks Aug. 7, he was asked, "Do you know which records the Russians are accessing?"
He replied, "That's classified."
This is some Grade A bullshit right here and by that I mean the medias near universal ignorance of this event and the fact that this event and most likely many others are classified instead of being made public. We need to know exactly what the Russians did. This was a direct assault on the very foundation of our country. These actions should not be shielded under the garbage claim of national security. In fact, this matter should be the countrys and Congress top priority instead of the myriad of other items crafted to distract us.
Let me give a shout out to Texas Towelie for posting this in the Florida group on Saturday.

(22,482 posts)You sound like you are bashing Senator Nelson, who is in a very bad place now trying to fight with that horrible man that ruined FL's waters - Rick Scott.
We can't afford anyone saying anything bad about Bill Nelson

Gov. Rick Scotts recently filed 125-page federal financial disclosure statement listed at least $50,000 in income last year from the sale of corporate securities stock in Navigator Holdings, Ltd.
Navigator Holdings is a shipping company that specializes in transporting liquefied petroleum gas for international energy companies, state-owned utilities and commodities traders, according to a corporate profile by the Reuters news service.
One of Navigators major clients is a Russian energy company with links to the Kremlin. The Russian company is Sibur, whose owners include Russian President Vladimir Putins son-in-law and a Russian oligarch facing U.S. government sanctions, according to the New York Times.
A financial stake in Navigator became a public issue in June for President Trumps Commerce secretary, Wilbur Ross, who shorted his Navigator stock soon after the Times questioned him about it last fall, the paper reported.
Scotts statement, which he filed last Friday with the U.S. Senate, listed his wife Anns income from the stock as between $50,001 and $100,000, and that Rick Scott earned between $0 and $201 in capital gains income. The statement noted that the stock is no longer held by the Scotts, who have assets of at least $255 million.
The Scotts prior ownership of Navigator stock would not have come to light if the Republican governor were not required as a Senate candidate to make a complete disclosure of his financial holdings.
