"I had the biggest inauguration crowd ever. Barack Obama illegally bugged me in Trump Tower. 3-5 million illegal votes cost me the popular vote. I will get Mexico to pay for the wall. I will replace Obama Care on Day 1 and it will be so easy. That meeting was to discuss adoption. Those CA wild fires are because of bad environmental laws that cause all the water to run into the Pacific Ocean. US Steel just announced they're opening 6 new plants. I have the highest poll numbers in the history of the Republican Party higher than even Honest Abe or Reagan."
You all can just overlook me, and overlook this post. So much goes so horribly wrong so fast these days it's hard to get my head around it. I just wanted to point out the outrageous lies that Donald Trump has spoken. Just f*cking outrageous.
And nothing ever really comes of it. Of course we watch in horror, but nothing ever changes. The President of the United States tells lie after lie and FACES ABSOLUTELY ZERO RECRIMINATIONS FOR DOING SO.
Of course the list of his lies is way longer than what I posted. And my humble post wont change anything or anyone's mind. But I just wanted to post it, I just want to see it written down somewhere so I can see it.

(3,479 posts)It's that simple. GOP voters are the epitome of partisan hacks. It's on us to dwarf that number. We can, and we will.
B) The economy is humming along nicely, sub 4% unemployment. No major wars. Crime rates, lower than at any point since the mid-60s, remain relatively stable. Any other POTUS, 19 months into his first term, would be sitting on 55-60 approval ratings. Trump can't even crack 45% unless it's Rasmussen.
He has not gotten away scot-free with his ridiculous lies. Trump would be popular with the majority of Americans if that were the case.

(14,491 posts)With big emphasis on the words hunger and desire. I was raised by people that went through the Great Depression and WW2, and they had that desire because they knew it was the road to improving their lives after all that suffering. They instilled that desire on my generation, but we were close to the last.
I suspect we reached a point where many Americans saw they could make a good living without the need for a healthy broad-based education and therefore just squeaked their way through school. At that point, they also lost interest in pushing their kids to strive for good learning as well.
In addition, big businesses and politicians started pushing schools to focus only on subject matter that's advantageous to business interests - thereby de-emphasizing the importance of a broad, liberal education.
Somehow, we must reverse that decline or else other nations and automation will push us into obscurity. That's already happening to a degree.

Til the day I die.
In my lifetime, in my experience, the Republican party is the vilest threat to America, freedom, and Democracy.

(45,447 posts)the same way Europeans, Canadians, Australians, and white South Africans were born in the United States. Mixed race Americans were born overseas. It's a white and brown issue.
I wish it were a joke if it didn't have serious ramifications on people's careers and right to exist in our country. But even some liberals think brown people are foreigners. Whites are assumed to be American.
