(82,849 posts)What's the matter with you people? Aren't you patriotic? Don't you want Donald Trump to win this trade war that's so easy to win? Some small, temporary sacrifices will have to be made, but it's for everyone's good. Of course, if "temporary" turns out to be "the foreseeable future" and if by "everyone" we really mean vulture capitalists, then there might need to be a teensy weensy recalibration. Yes, some of you will suffer, but it's a price Donald Trump is willing to pay. And you can bet that's one price that will not go up.

(34,661 posts)at Wal Mart and especially any Krogers/Smiths and Fred Meyers. Most were put in place in the middle of last month. Normally,in the Grocery Business, these price increases happen in the October-November time frame each year.
BTW,just left the Mid West, holy cow, talk about price increases. And that is Trump Land and the Natives are pissed.
If you live in Utah, you just got hit with a 25 cent to one dollar increase in your Gas Price in the last ten days.

(7,725 posts)Milk raised 25%. Now 1.25gal. Vegetables are ridiculous and I refuse to buy them. Quart of mushrooms went from .99 to 1.49. bananas are up 20 cents a pound. Most everything has gone up at least a dime often 20 cents. PER ITEM. Stuff like shampoo and toothpaste slight increases. Lightbulbs...20.00 for two? Id rather have the old ones and pay 5.00 a month more on my bill...and frankly, i dont even think I saved that much. I rarely use a 100 watt bulb at all. these prices have gone up since almost the day he got elected. Walmart is moving everything around in most of its stores to confuse you w hopes you wont recognize the food price hikes. Laundry soap and softner, about the same. Comet cleanser went up 28 cents since 2016...thats a lot when a can used to be 80 cents.

(7,725 posts)on the titanium or whatever. It's ridiculous. I get the shick hydro 5 blades and man they last a long time...a single bladed disposable would hack me apart.
Blue_true
(31,261 posts)The blade angles for me are perfect, one or two sweeps across an area is all that is needed. There is minimal irritation after the shave, which I like. I tolerate the price and would continue to buy even at $3-4 per cartridge, the blades are just good. I have looked at the Hydro blades but decided to stay with the 3's. How do the Hydros compare to the 3's, if you have used both?
I don't know why the price went up, but I noticed and that is something that I normally don't notice.
You are right about the blades being sharp an durable. I am sort of an impatient shaver, I do almost everything in the bath fast except bathing (low shower water time, but long bath). When I shave I am like a wild man, but I tell you, if I get the angle of the blades to my skin wrong, the cutting is instant and as far as the cartridge design allows and boy, there is blood.
Crutchez_CuiBono
(7,725 posts)seem to last longer and are easier on the skin. I buy the 20.00+ dollar jumbo packs so I don't have to keep going back to the well on the razors.
Blue_true
(31,261 posts)I will give the 5 blade a test run and see what happens. $20 plus is what I would expect for 5 blade, I just paid over $17 for an 8 pack of 3 blade yesterday.

(146,317 posts)I shaved for the last time sometime in 1969. I can't remember the date. No razor has touched my face since then. I've saved tons of money and time in the almost 50 years I've worn a full beard.

(31,261 posts)They work for some guys, not for me for some reason, maybe it is just psychological, or maybe it is genetic. I had nine brothers earlier in my life, not a single one grew a beard. My currently oldest brother is the only one in the family that grows a beard because his skin is really soft and shaving tears up his face, he scratches his face a lot though. His skin looks real smooth when he has a barber shave him.

Their cheap generic drug list has dropped 2/3 of the drugs that were on it. Again, no kidding. I track drug prices like a hawk around here because we don't have drug insurance. It has always been cheaper to buy out of pocket than pay a increasing monthly premium and co-pays.
I get a strong feeling Wal-mart and other stores are getting the message from Trump they can price gouge and no one will get after them.

(838 posts)Venezuelans have been feeling pain for a while now, and inflation is set to top one million percent there this year. The only change is that things have gotten even worse and the exodus has turned into a torrent.

(7,725 posts)so.....
The lectures about voting are tiresome. ESPECIALLY when it can't be proven either way that what you say is true, and just as easily can be the result of voter disenfranchisement or voting tallies that have been changed. So if that's the case why should people who did the right thing, be punished, then lectured to about their voting habits? Just wondering how that fits?
WePurrsevere
(24,259 posts)I would love it if it were ONLY the idiots who voted for Trump that are the ones who will pay the price but unfortunately the reality is that a LOT of innocent people are going to be hurt if inflation goes to much more up. There were plenty of small business owners, working poor, disabled, veterans and seniors who voted for Hillary and are angry with Trump and the Republican twits in office who are already struggling with incomes that haven't kept up with the reality of inflation, including the sneaky 'inflation by deflation' that's been going on for years.
If your income and COL can take the bit more power to you but a huge amount of us are drowning already and another hit could cost us everything.

CrispyQ
(36,470 posts)that when something that is over $2.50 dollars goes up, it doesn't go up by 15-25¢, it goes up by 50¢. And then six weeks later it goes up again & now you are paying a dollar more than you were two months ago.
