Larry Nassar moved from Arizona prison because lawyers say he was assaulted hours after placement in general population

PHOENIX – Larry Nassar, the disgraced former Michigan State University and USA Gymnastics doctor, has been moved from a federal prison in Tucson.

Nassar, 55, had been an inmate at the U.S. Penitentiary Tucson since February.

On Sunday, the serial sex abuser was listed as an inmate at Oklahoma City’s Federal Transfer Center on the Federal Bureau of Prisons website. The facility is typically used as a holdover location before inmates are moved to a new location. It's not clear where he will be placed after being held in Oklahoma.

The move comes weeks after Nassar's lawyers said in court filings he was assaulted within a few hours of being placed in the general population, the Lansing State (Michigan) Journal reported.

assault one another with some non-zero degree of frequency. Another thing to loathe about the US prison system is the apparent fact that a certain portion of the US population finds amusement/enjoyment in the notion of prisoners assaulting one another. Or certain prisoners being assaulted, at least.

One thing I am curious about though is the question of the true motivation/cause of this assault. Was it because he was a) an infamous case, b) a sexual assailant, or c) weak in appearance, d) some specific combination of above, or e) none of the above?

One thing which some may lose sight of in their schadenfreude about him being assaulted is the fact that prison assaults may occur for reasons entirely separate from the reasons for their schadenfreude.

Maybe not as prevalent as TV would have us believe, but a fact nonetheless.

Anyway, while there may be no honor among thieves, cons have their own code of ethics, and child molesters are the lowest of the low in the joint as well as outside of it.

Do you have any idea how many guys on the inside are fathers? They don't take well to child molesters...
