"Everybody's acting like Donald Trump is this unicorn"

“Everybody’s acting like Donald Trump is this unicorn, and he’s this remarkable political figure who’s just going to keep winning presidential elections — he’s not,” Scarborough said. “He lost by 3 million votes. He lost to, again, I will say, one of the least effective politicians on the national stage in recent memory.”

“There is no 2020 re-election, there’s just not,” he added. “That may be why Donald Trump is playing for his hardcore third because he knows he’s not going to face re-election. I’m the only person in the world speculating this right now, other than people that are close to Donald Trump and just don’t think he’s going to put up with the possibility of getting walloped in 2020.”

MSNBC analyst John Heilemann, however, believed Trump could win — but he doesn’t believe he’ll serve a second term.

“If he ran and won again in 2020 he would quit in January of 2021 because he has no interest in of being president for a second term, but he really wants to win twice just to show all of us we’re wrong,” Heilemann said.

...lies about things he said and did in front of everyone even moments ago, and doesn't know the difference between agent orange and napalm. He controls nothing, he decides nothing. If the Puppetmaster (Putin?) decides he will run in 2020, then he will run in 2020, even if he's actually dead.

motivate his base (25% of the adult population)... get them all to vote
discourage the "non-engaged" (both sides do it, whataboutism, etc)
actively keep the rest of us from voting, voter suppression, vote hacking, etc.

We HAVE to do a better job... I used to say that Democrats had to win by 5% just to eek out a win against the Repukes who I am convinced have been cheating since 2000, now I say it has to be 10% to make up for the cheating, vote suppression, etc.

First, what is it with Republicans (and, despite his defection, Scarborough is a republican at hears) that they can't help but throw in a gratuitous Hillary insult.

Second, Russian interference in the form of Facebook advertising, hacked e-mails, hacked vote counts, other guerilla tactics, covert (then, overt now) coordination with the trump campaign, etc. He won in the same sense that steroid-driven ball players hit more homeruns. There will always be an asterisk next to their names.
