Michael Cohen is giving Trump one last chance to pardon him. He is pleading guilty and facing over 10 years in prison.
If Trump doesn't pardon him by sentencing (and he will not be sentenced today), Cohen will cooperate.

(52,253 posts)having a credible witness to explain what all the paper means would certainly of value, but the defense only had cohen available for that.
not much of a "value add", so no real incentive for prosecutors to cut a different deal in exchange for cooperation.

Cohen made the payments...and it got sticky when Trump started getting traction in the election.

(42,770 posts)Cooperation Clause in plea agreement which is uncommon. Plus doesn't scare Dolt 45 into thinking he's ratting him out now.

What is not settled is whether they are currently working on an omnibus agreement on cooperation.
Just because he pleaded guilty on a couple of counts doesn't mean that they aren't working on an agreement for everything else.
