If we can get rid of Trump and get a few good and decent Presidents in the White House - ones with a good understanding of how the world works, I think we will be able to rebuild our alliances and regain the world's trust within a generation of two. They will accept that Trump was an aberration and not a real indicator of what the US is.

Germany went from Hitler to a close ally in two generations. Japan did as well. Vietnam did it in one generation.

But, we need a President who will really hold Putin's feet to the fire and let him know, in no uncertain terms, that there will be even more serious and severe consequences if he ever tries something like screwing with our elections again.
