We hear very little about McConnel and Ryan and how they are shirking their responsibility. The MSM is not countermanding the Senators and Representatives who still openly support Trump. No one is kicking back on their absurd and unpatriotic bullshit.
If anything the media is allowing them to set up the firing of Mueller, Rosentstien and Sessions. And they would seem to want a mess of pardons that turns the country upside down and inside out.
OH, SUCH TURMOIL AND CHAOS MAKE SO MUCH DRAMA AND GETS GOOD RATINGS.

(6,252 posts)The constant free coverage of his events was bad enough. I thought Al Gore got a raw deal from the media. (and he did) Multiply that by a factor of 10. That's what she got.

(7,968 posts)Just imagine if the tables were turned. We'd here nothing else... I actually think the media is partisian in a sense. They are partisian in that they excuse the Repubilcan behavior and don't call it out. Sometimes on MSNBC...

(10,602 posts)True they are. But more heat and criticism need to be brought on GOP leadership. Need more pressure against court pick. More on their role in Russiagate. McConnell stopped Obama from addressing it knowing the Trump was under the gun. Need to confront them more and NOT take no comment as an answer. Hound these bastards for an answer. Stalk them if you have to.

(10,602 posts)GOP operatives are on the air almost all the time pushing their talking points and lies with inadequate rebuttal or kick back. There are too many of them that should not be on the air at all. Some ideas do not deserve the light of day they are so horrible.
All I see for Democrats except on CNN and MSNBC is that they are used for cannon fodder. Usually they are out numbered on the aid. And they are talked over and interrupted.

(10,721 posts)...Democrats hammer home the message that the rise of Trump (and the enabling of Trump) or someone like him was the inevitable result of 50 years of Republican rhetoric and policy. With an immense amount of help from an irresponsible infotainment industry that promotes false equivalencies and the notion that every statement is an equally valid opinion (there are no facts, there are no lies; there are only opinions), all in the name of boosting profits and not upsetting advertisers. It's not enough for a few pundits on MSNBC or CNN to state the obvious.
The Republican Party has fomented and exploited racism (including xenophobia), sexism, religious bigotry, jingoism and extreme selfishness for decades. The pre-Trump Republican Party is directly responsible for Trump. They need to own that, which the anti-Trump Republicans who appear on TV or who are retiring from Congress aren't doing--they're all pushing this idea that the pre-Trump Republican Party was just fine. Either make drastic changes or close shop and let a new party fill the void.
If Democrats don't start hammering home that message (which, yes, involves taking the media to task via the media...something Republicans started doing decades ago to great success) and take control of the narrative, the post-Trump Republican Party and the media will claim all is well because we've returned to normalcy. As if that's acceptable. As if everything was just fine pre-Trump. As if the Republican Party hasn't long been built upon a foundation of bigotry, greed and lies. As if the Republican Party hasn't long been morally and ethically bankrupt. As if the Republican Party hasn't relied heavily upon race-based gerrymandering and voter suppression. As if the "liberal media" lie of the last 30+ years wasn't bullshit from day one.
Own it, Republicans. Own it.
