This is a political fight. The drumbeat of negative trump news helps in the political fight.

not just Mueller. SDNY should indict him too if the evidence from Cohen/Pecker et al. warrants it. New York State should indict him if the Trump Foundation investigation warrants it.

Just include him along with everyone else who deserves to get indicted. Make the courts put it on hold b/c he's POTUS, if that is what is going to happen. But don't hide the fact that the evidence warrants indictment.

Don't even think of confirming Kavanaugh.

Following McCONnell, no judicial confirmations in this the last year of Trump's presidency.

- one party doing it to the other.

I suspect a lot more Americans would go along with an indictment - that the president should not be above the law just like the rest of America. And like the rest of America, the president would get his day in court - a chance to defend himself from all charges decided by a jury just like every other American.

I think the GOP would have a tougher task arguing he should not be indicted because he's like a king or dictator - above the law. That argument will not resonate as well.

because that would be for "only political reasons" I think that should be a signal to Mueller that, yes, he should bring official criminal charges. Otherwise the trumplodytes would run with the b.s. defense that his offenses didn't even rise to the level of indictment.
