Seeing as how so many things are beginning to appear to be manipulated by Russian trolls, such as the anti-vaccine movement, I am now wondering how much of the climate change denial movement has been pushed by trolls.
Your thoughts?

(101,316 posts)and used the same techniques, and often people, that tobacco did from earlier still. Russian trolls might be joining in now for shits and giggles, but those two huge business sectors have been funding denial, to protect their profits, for decades.

(22,976 posts)It seems apparent by now that Russian intelligence has carefully studied the existing schisms in our culture: race, income inequality, gender, fears of terrorism, firearms ownership/use, and a desire to punish political opponents well after their terms of service, etc.
They will capitalize on ANYTHING that chops us up into ever-smaller blocs, so that there's no longer a cohesive whole.
As we see right this moment, our country is boiling down into some weird soupy consistency, losing its footing, shape and predictability.

It is cyber-warfare and we (and other countries) are under direct attack.
