I have to wonder if an FBI visit to the Trump Organization offices to gather evidence might be in the works. Weisselberg, no doubt, knows ALL about the money-laundering and movement of funds here and there by the organization. He knows where the records are, what they show, and may be ready to hand all of that over.
The immunity will save his sorry ass, but he may well be giving up Trump in exchange. Donald Trump must be in an absolute panic over this immunity deal. He knows just what peril it puts him in.
Bravo! Thanks, Mr. Weisselberg! Good decision!

He must be realizing that the toast is getting darker by the minute, and the toaster is about to pop it all up.

(146,308 posts)And that is probably the very best news of all for us. Yes, the investigation is ignoring that line and going after Trump where the real dirt is stored. They're associating all of this with the Cohen investigation, but that's just window dressing. The point is getting at the records of all the misdeeds, dirty deals and money-laundering that has been going on for years.
And now, it's public news. It's no longer a behind-the-curtains probe. It's now open news and open season on Trump's financial shenanigans.
There will be no escape.

(15,751 posts)Now weaselberg, cohen, Manafort under pressure. Plus the numerous other immunity grants. Plus the Mueller 'speaking indictments' which go deep and last well beyond the daily news cycle.
Methinks this relentless 'drumbeat' is having good effects - and 'affects'. I'm encouraged by seeing old rw stalwarts like Coryn and Shelby recently coming to Session's defense publicly. Privately, in advance, they may have emboldened Sessions to take a stand against trump bullying DOJ.
Even old rw stalwarts have a sense of those 'speaking indictments'.

"What's this I see?" Mueller was heard to exclaim.
