It was a great plan. Putting the Republican Comey in charge was one of their best moves. The manner in which he helped to install Trump worked out brilliantly for Clinton.

Overall, these agencies are littered with conservatives/Republicans. Similar to police forces. They still do a pretty good job. Most do have good character and a respect for law.

He's probably pretty smart (Harvard Law, etc), but his TV arguments never sound very convincing. He's into this sort of "realpolitics" "pragmatic" law-- kind of "whatever we can get away with". Not very intellectual, more cynical.

But he's certainly not liberal in a normal sense, and he's been trotting around Trump licking up his droppings for a long time. Liberals actually wouldn't do that.
