He is blaming his wife for his being indicted for stealing campaign money.
Bullshit. Ratpublicans one and all would do exactly the same thing. They would throw their children into a flaming school bus if they thought it would give them an ounce of power or an extra nickel. This is what ratpublicans do, its in their nature. They actually may not be able to help themselves.
They so believe in their right to be in charge, that their grasp on power is inviolable, lifelong and god given, that no heinous act is too vile, no behavior to gross, no oath unbreakable. They see the indecent behavior of their fellow ratpublicans and feel free to push the boundaries of obscenity to greater and greater heights.
Dont believe for a second that they are appalled-at Dunkin Hunters behavior. He has only set the bar so that they have a new challenge in exceeding his grotesqueness.
Their real lament is that they didnt think of it first. But its in the playbook now.

(171,092 posts)claims he's innocent and blamed the wife because she handled their finances. His first excuse, 'the deep state was out to get him' wasn't working.
He's disgusting imo.

true that she made all the decisions to steal the money (which I do not believe), he's still culpable. He benefited. He knew they could not afford their spending so he had to know there was stolen money, and where it came from.
So it is a ridiculous excuse, just as stupid as the deep state excuse.

(62,276 posts)Hell even their kids did it.
If they're appalled at him blaming his wife it's only because a good old boy should defend his wife against the onslaught.
But his defense in court is going to be "the wife did it and made me do it."
Only it's not going to work because he did it with a handful of other witnesses, and they'll be asked "was that a campaign event?" and will be forced to tesfify "no."

(15,805 posts)Republicans have a long history of dissing their wives. Newt Gingrich, Mark Foley, Vitter, Sanford, and tons of others, of course, Donald Trump heads the list.

He even suggested that she cheated on him with his best briber, I mean donor.
