durante bene placito regis , or serving at the pleasure of the king. This means, basically, that you can be fired any time, there are no restraints on your employer.

Contrasted with Quamdiu se bene gesserit, which means serving on good behavior -- ie, a lifetime appointment unless one does something particularly nasty. Most judges serve on good behavior (elective judges excepted, of course). It's a little like tenure.

I can’t count the number of times Lindsey made big bipartisan statements only to backtrack and vote along party lines. Enough times, however for me to stop listening to him. Something is different. In the last year he even looks different to me and during his last statement to a reporter about impotus having the right fire Sessions it appeared he wasn’t even looking the reporter in the eye.
