He's saying so on AMJoy, but how is this different from Mueller getting the traitor-in-chief to talk with him? Is it because Mueller is part of the Justice Dept. and Avanatti is a civilian lawyer?

(115,858 posts)The precedent was established in Clinton v. Jones, where the Supreme Court held that a sitting president could be sued in a civil case for acts done before the president took office. Since a deposition is one of the procedures in a civil case, Paula Jones' attorneys were allowed to take Clinton's deposition. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clinton_v._Jones
