BREAKING: The Official Cost Of Obamacare Is 14 cents Per Pizza

http://www.latimes.com/business/money/la-fi-mo-papa-johns-pizza-obamacare-20120808,0,3420509.story|

I think the guy from Poppa Johns did Obama a favor, as someone posted earlier the 14cents puts a tangible cost on the price of Obama care that even ignorant red-staters can understand and most likely be able to afford.

your take?

TIA

the point home.

Really what a tight wad. Honestly if you got to whine and try and make your customers get angry about 14 cents it kind of makes me wonder what type of an employer you are and I tend to not spend money at places that treat employees like shit.

if we had medicare for all and finally broke the INCREDIBILY STUPID public policy of tying health coverage to employment, then papa john's and other employers wouldn't need to pay anything at all for employee health insurance. they'd be out of that non-core business entirely (unless they wanted to offer some sort of supplementary insurance as an extra benefit).

then, he per employee-costs would be lower, and so he could hire more people and lower the cost of his pizzas.

but of course he's not pushing for that, he's just using his access to a microphone to spout stupid political views at the expense of his employees, investors, and franchisees.

and get the type of health care that actually works.

I'd pay it.

Obamacare is a good start but we need something better (like single payer).

we are talking about a 1% increase in costs.

Margin of error stuff, rounding errors are larger.

Even at ten bucks each the increase is only 1.4%. I would love to see a spreadsheet which has an overhead cost for any item below 1.4%.

The owner is throwing a baby temper-tantrum and just used some arbitrary number to add to the cost.
