John McCain is exhibit one in my theory of Americans love for this country

I contend that you can measure an American's love for this country by how much they hate Donald Trump. The more you hate Trump, the more you love this country and vice versa.

You may disagree with some of McCain's positions on issues, like the Iraq war and deregulation, but you cannot, in good conscience question his love for this country. His courage, devotion and service demonstrate that. So, now that we have established McCain's love of country, let's look at the other side of the equation, hatred for Donald Trump. Do you have any idea how much you have to hate a person to bar him from you services and funeral? To publicly release that the President of the United States is dis-invited from 3 services and one being held in Washington. That McCain will be lying is state and the President is asked NOT to attend in the city in which the President resides. Wow, that's hate. He may hate Trump even more than I do, and I thought no one could.

So, to my original point. McCain's love for this country can be measured by his hatred for Donald Trump. That's my theory about all Americans and John McCain is exhibit one.

I want to believe, Senator McCain was a patriot of the likes we may never see again. My family, going back generations (to the Revolution), served in the military, for better or worse.

Immigration, regulation, etc. He fought for tax reform and for most intents and purposes probably wanted a Supreme Court justice appointed as a conservative because he thought that was best for the country. But he was a patriot because he has always fought for what he truly believes was right. And sacrificed more in the 6 years in a Hanoi prison than most of us have in a lifetime. He is an American hero tried and true.
