Wow. They're running Welfare Queen attack ads in Florida.

I'm a Dem living in Florida, which can sometimes feel quite solitary. I did get my crippled self outta bed the other day to vote against Allen West, which was quite a pleasure. With signs for him everywhere, I know it's futile, but at least I tried.

As I write this, I'm watching the local evening news on CBS. I've gotten into the habit of muting the TV during commercial breaks, because they're now wall-to-wall attack ads. A new one caught my eye today, and I couldn't believe it. They're back to the Welfare Queen thing. Let me excerpt the text of the commercial:

"Obama guts welfare reform. You wouldn't have to work. You wouldn't have to train for a job. They'll just send you a check."

That's not even getting into the audio. Sometimes, I wish I could get outta this state.

Times are bad for his campaign, so he's pointing a finger at minorities and the poor in hopes of locking up the 'I've got mine' voters.

Their word was good for a couple of minutes.

Heard an interesting rumor from a fellow Democrat. Heard that Romney did MUCH more than impersonate a police officer in college, in fact they say he raped several coeds. Someone needs to ask Phillip Maxwell and others that knew Romney then.

Phillip Maxwell, a prep school buddy, told the New Republic in 2008 that Romney had pulled over students from a girls school next door to Cranbrook while wearing a police uniform as a prank. Other former classmates described Mitt as a “happy-go-lucky guy known less for his achievements and more for his pranks.”
