Pope George Ringo II
(1,896 posts)Cheney is on a very short list of people who really understands the job she did as FLOTUS, as Secretary, and even as Senator. For her part, she can do the same for his time at high levels of government. Not just secrets, but down to trivial stuff like amusing foibles of White House personnel. They're part of an exclusive club and have things in common with each other that realistically we'll never have with either of them.
Don't get me wrong, she's got some ideological common ground with us that I'm pretty sure she doesn't have with him, but I can certainly see how one could grow to put politics aside if that was what it took to enjoy the very rare conversations with people who can at least follow your thoughts about the most important years of your professional life.
