One person who is likely not happy tonight is Tammy Baldwin

I can't see this helping her at all given that likely WI will have money and effort spent on the GOP's behalf. I would love to see a gay US Senator, and think she still has a shot but her uphill fight is a bit more uphill.

Why should we? Obama has a lead in all the polls there, and Ryan has never been elected to any state wide office. The race may tighten some in Wisc. but I think Obama still has to be favored to carry it.

are you talking about the presidential race or all of them. I do not see how Paul Ryan on the ticket be in any way positive for the repugs in any of the races. He is the democrats dream candidate. He wants to privatize all the social services that the unemployed people need to survive and his running mate is the one that helped them attain unemployment status. A match made in hell.

7. Why would they concede when they were successful in the Walker recall?

I realize that President Obama has always been likely to carry Wisconsin again, but aren't they counting on Tommy Thompson winning? (Truthfully, I haven't really been paying attention as of yet. Have the republicans even selected a nominee yet?)

apparently a number of people voted to keep Walker but are intending to vote for Obama. A number of people felt that recalling Walker was going too far for what was a policy difference. I disagree with that but that is what they apparently believe. According to exit polls of the recall, Obama would have won with around 52% of the vote. He is polling above 50 and with a 5 to 6 point lead.

was weak, uninspired and anti-union. He's what Hunter S Thomson used to call a ward healer. Let's just say he was no Bobby Kennedy.

I think picking him to rerun the race was a boneheaded idea but I also think, barring a pick with star power, say Feingold, that the race would have gone the same way.

Maybe I'm too Pollyanna-ish but I don't see Paul Ryan changing the dynamics in Wisconsin by more than 2 or 3 % points (at most). Thats not gonna be enough.
