To keep any great nation up to a high standard of civilization there must be enough superior characters to hold the balance of power, but the very moment the balance of power gets into the hands of second-rate men and women, a decline of that nation is inevitable. C. D. Larson

(16,939 posts)you gotta' love what Comey's doing to get the message out there - now.
I wonder if he sees the irony in that he was a major cause of the situation to begin with?

(58,785 posts)the month of October, much less only one in a list of one. I'm still hoping we are able to charge and prosecute.

(51,632 posts)there is a blue wave? They already have a long list of issues they want to investigate. I believe it was Swalwell who said that there are about 100 issues they want to look into.

(58,785 posts)betrayal of the entire nation, treason by the common meaning is huge. And seemingly we don't even know who the director and assistant director of the FBI might have conspired with, within and without the FBI and DoJ. I'm sure we can't know the half of what they did.
And beyond overthrowing the will of the people in 2016, this conspiracy -- whether only the 2 top men putting their dream careers on the line for...what, the fun of it? or something much bigger -- was aimed at denying power to Democrats and throwing it to intensely corrupt Republicans, who mostly serve the dark-money classes and are being alarmingly authoritarian.
We couldn't allow that to continue. Quiet deals could be cut, though, people transferred and allowed to retire, new ones appointed, and we might never know. Trump obligingly took out Comey and McCabe, seemingly out of spite because they wouldn't serve him, but their fully justified firings do create a nice line to seemingly move on from, even if that's not the way it actually happened.
All speculation. Except that we can't leave active traitors in the FBI. We have to get control.

for those who are responsible. I agree with Hillary that Comey was the main reason she lost (the Electoral vote that is).

(58,785 posts)May still happen.
Would be interesting to know what Hillary does know, or thinks she does, now about it all. Guessing she'll put that, or most of it, in a book someday.

(819 posts)He acts so holier than thou, yet completely glosses over the fact that he broke norms and rules to hurt HRC a week before the election.
