The sight of the handmaidens dressed in red always unnerves me. It was a perfect choice for this protest.

I'm LOVING the dissent!

I'm sitting here watching the fool Orrin Hatch, extolling how marvelous it is that Kavanaugh likes to eat pasta with ketchup! How adorable! Let's airlift him straight onto the high bench!

And I bet this darling man still sleeps with his teddy bear, 'eh? And he likes Twinkies and Hostess Snowballs!

I'm already wondering if Kavanaugh can be impeached. Another high-ranking judge was, in the past.

with it, and have started watching the show from the beginning for the first time. I saw the movie with Faye Dunaway & Robert Duvall when it was broadcast on cable about 10 years ago so I sortof knew the background and storyline, but the series is really stretching it all out as they do major character development that a one-off film obviously can't do.

and their activities & interactions versus the film, which was more generic when showing what amounted to X-gens.

Only thing is, I am seeing some whining about season 2 so will have to reserve judgement when I get there.

I still have a ways to go (have not had time to binge-watch because I am juggling hobbies and chores... ). Atwood was involved in the film too although I think all involved including the screenplay writers, were a bit upset that it was difficult to present in a film (obvious limitations of the time). I found an interesting commentary about the film here - https://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2015/03/the-forgotten-handmaids-tale/388514/

(IMHO, as much as it was panned, to me, it and the book, were probably too far ahead of their time back in 1990)
